Snack Time: PayDay…and still Waiting!!

by Savings Lifestyle: Andrea on August 09, 2008

I wanted to give you an update on how much money/point balances I have in my various survey accounts. My first update was discussed here. My numbers and growing and I can’t wait to cash out next month. It does take a while to receive your prizes or rewards from these survey companies (like 6-8 weeks) so I’m cashing out by the end of September to ensure I receive them in time for Christmas!

  • $40.68 Send Earnings. The majority of these earnings are from all my paid-to-read emails. Easy money!!
  • $35.08 Inbox Dollars. The majority of these earnings are also from paid-to-read emails.
  • 1000 points at Lightspeed Panel. 575 points equals to $5 via paypal. I always get surveys from them too so if I just complete a few more, I know I’ll at least have $10 come next month!
  • American Consumer Opinion. There isn’t a balance with them because they pay immediately upon completion of surveys. I’ve earned around $50 so far this year from them!
  • 115 points at Opinion Outpost. This equals to $11.50 cash! These are easy to do, but I find myself always deleting the requests, hence why I didn’t earn anymore.
  • 1950 points Epoll. Since I cashed out before I decided to hold my earnings, this one is low. You need 2500 points to cash out so I should have that by the time I decide to cash out again. I haven’t completed many survey requests either so I’ve just missed out.
  • 44500 market points at Nickelodeon Panel Polls. This equals to $44.50 in cash so I can cash out next month for sure! My kids primarily do these, so I’ll split the money between them.
  • 660 points at My Survey. I can’t get a reward until I hit 1000 points again (or $10 cash). That shouldn’t take too much longer since I get points for screeners.
  • $10.50 at Survey Savvy. I’ll let that sit too since I get a survey from them at least once a month.
  • $9 at Your2Cents. I always get requests from them too for cash payments, but never get around to doing them.
  • 2585 points at Zoompanel. There are several prizes I could cash out with and I’ll use it for a Christmas gift
  • $19.25 at Valued Opinions. I can’t cash out until I get to $20 so I should have that met by next month.
  • 335 market points at Global Test Market. Once my account hits 1000 I can cash in – for literal cash. 1000 points is equal to $50! I ignore so many of these survey requests (I get a lot too) that I just let them pass by! That is just money going out the door since they’re easy to complete!

So, my grand total as of today in just cash rewards is $171 – so I have made $31! Those reward sites hold many other prizes I can use for Christmas, so that will certainly come in handy! If you’re interested in these surveys, or the list of all of my surveys, please click here for my original snack. It will give you a breakdown of each survey company and the benefits they offer!! They are easy ways to make a few extra bucks!

I planning to cash out the first week of September, to use mine for Christmas. Both DH and I do surveys, and this money sure does come in handy for Christmas.

What a great idea to use these for Christmas! Its like a Christmas Club at your bank or credit union. I will definitely be snacking on this. I will say, though, that Inbox and Send Earnings seem to take FOR EV ER to grow! Whew! I wish I had signed up with a different email address for them because I get tired of clickin’ through sometimes!
    Thanks for your blog!

Do you have to claim on your taxes the income you make from surveys or sites like Youdata?

Robin, if you reach a certain limit, which is typically anywhere from $200 – $500, the company will issue you a 1099. HTH!

I do a few sites- inbox dollors- sendearnings. im just always worrired about the tax part- somewhere i read if you earn less than $600 a year you dont have to worry about taxes. but im interested in earning more as a stay at home mom. what would you recommend as far as me getting starting and figureing out the tax part and sites that you knw of that i can read about these topics and paying taxes on these things. how do i get started to earn more and make sure i am doing it all right. thanks for your time.

Hi Angie, you are right in that you aren’t required to report anything less than $600. Honestly, with surveys you will unlikely come up to $600 total, let alone each company.

I’m not a tax expert at all, so I can’t guide you on that one. But, to earn more, be sure to sign up for the good paying, legit sites and do every survey you are sent. Make sure the time you spend on them is worth it too. HTH!

Thanks- i got another question- you said let alone each company- so does that mean i can do as many survery sites as i want and earn less than $600 a year in each company- does it mean the tax part is less than $600 with each company but can go over $600 with multiple companys. i hope i am makeing since here. Thanks once again for your time and awesome blog.
