Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

As I mentioned on Monday, we are on vacation this week. With vacation brings relaxation and rest…and food, and food, and…more food! I wasn’t that bad each day, but I definitely didn’t do my normal 1200-1500 calories. We had ding dongs (and you all know how I can tear me up some ding dongs), pasta, fried stuff – well, the list just goes on and on. But, on the bright side, I did exercise 4 days this week and the weather was so unbelievably beautiful (and hot…really hot). My exercise is what inspired this snack today as I made it through my exercise routine by my…

Focus on His Works and His Word

His Word: I run with an ipod and I have it geared up with some of my favorite songs, all of the music is upbeat, fast-paced, contemporary christian except for a few (and even those are encouraging and inspirational). It has been my goal to load my ipod strictly with christian or inspirational music that makes me think. I want to feed my mind with His Word while I’m focusing on my workout. It helps me to focus on the greatness of my God while I’m burnin’ all that fat (and takin’ good care of his temple). And, it does help me keep my mind of the pain because some days it hurts so good (were you just singin’ that John Mellencamp tune cause I was…HAHA) :-)

His Works: Well, since we’re on the beach this week, how can one not take in the wonder of His Works here. I would run and look out to the ocean as I’m listening to this song and just praise Him. I do this while I’m running at home too, but obviously, a background of crashing waves helps with the atmosphere a bit more! Seeing the beauty that surrounds us really gets me inspired to keep moving – whether I’m on a beach or in our subdivision. He is an Amazing God and His Works are perfect!

Listening to His Word and seeing His Works makes me think about scriptural references I’m familiar with and praise Him. I’m growing (not outward but inward) and strengthening my relationship with Christ as I’m burnin’ some fat – how efficient and cool is that!

And, since there are no scales here, I can’t share any weight results – DARN! I’m hoping I’ve just maintained (or lost, but I won’t hold my breath). I have 3 weeks to meet my goal weight so I’m not sure that it will be possible but I’m not giving up until that day rolls around (remember, we won’t mention that date, but then I do…you know what I mean..hehe).

So, how did you do this week? And, what inspires you as you’re working out? I love to hear about all of it, so please share :-)

Glad your weight loss is going well. I’ve had a little bit of a lull in mine. I did lose 10 lbs so I treated myself to a spa trip.

Good for you! I have tried my exercise routine, and that is fine. But I am a true food-devil! I just can’t say no to good food. So I haven’t lost much weight, but at least it is constant…. Keep up your good work, you are great inspiration!
