Snack Time: Borders.com $5 off $5 – SWEET Deal!

This is a super fantabulous deal now, thanks to Carrie’s update here (and thanks to her reader Tonya for sharing the deal too!). You get $5 off every single item, not just the entire purchase! Can you say Christmas gifts (for my own family and our Operation Christmas Child families)???

Please visit MoneySavingMethods to get all the details on how she got $100 in books for just $1.99. And, like Carrie, I also suggest going through BigCrumbs to get 3% cash back on your Borders.com purchase – every little penny adds up :-)

I plan on working this deal later today!

that is just unbelievable. Thank you both for posting this deal. i bought $75 worth of books for $1.99 also.

The website was going so incredibly slow that I stopped after a while.

I wonder if I can keep buying books? or does the promo code only work once?

Great deal, I need to place a order now. I was really bummed with it cost me so much for a book last night at walmart.

I haven’t been able to confirm my order yet because it’s soooo slow!

And, Melissa, I don’t see why we can’t continue buying since there isn’t a restriction on that specific coupon code.

Angela – I would have been bummed too, but there are so many deals I miss out on and get disappointed that I know a better deal is waiting around the corner. You could always return that book and just order it from borders!

The Website is currently slow and I called Borders because my bank account had been charged but no order was showing. I called on it and the gentleman there stated that is not the way the coupon was intended so anyone who has made a purchase the order will be dropped within 24 hours. I hope that some of yours goes through but I was bummed to hear that borders has caught on and they aren’t going to allow those orders to go through.

    Good Morning
I too was having problems with the website last nite. The promotional code did go thru but I could not get to the final purchase. It was too late to call anyone last nite so this morning I checked with my bank and I have two pending charges from Borders mind you its only $2.36 from $130.00 dollars. I called Borders as well and Susan told me that the order will not go thru cuz of promotioanl code is only on final order. So if you have time maybe you can still use code just one at a time. Its still a bargain.

    I really appreciate your blog!
Just an FYI that I went through Ebates using the coupon code before I heard that it might not give cash back using a coupon code from another source. But I just got an email from Ebates, and I did receive credit for my order! Also, I did not get $5 off each book. But Borders let me use another coupon code with this one, so I got just over 30% off my order and free shipping.

Anonymous and Lucky, thanks for the feedback! I have read that in other places too. I have also read that others have been successful in using the code once but could NOT order anymore using that code – said code had already been used. So, if people do this deal multiple times I believe you’ll need different email addresses.

Sarah – good to know on Ebates. Sometimes they are hit and miss. I always try to guide people to what I know will work for sure, but if others are reading this now they know that Ebates might credit for them too! Thanks for the update!!
