This week was a stockpile week for me! I didn’t have a whole of needs items to get so I was able to stay on budget – woo hoo!! You can see all the coupon matches I’ve done this week in my Snack Summary here. On to the savings:
CVSTotal OOP: $3.95
Total Saved: $19.68 ($1.98 ECB)
I used up all my Powerade coupons I purchased a while ago to get these for FREE. And, the wipes were OK since I had a little overage to spend!
Kroger
Total OOP: $24.13
Total Saved: $39.52 (used a $3.50 GM Catalina)
Here’s the great thing about how God provides! Last year when Target had the Huggies wipes deal going on, I stocked up majorly. Well, I just ran out of wipes (I even bought some at CVS before this deal) so this week Kroger had the P&G Deal going on and it included wipes but they left it out of the ad (why do they do this?). So, when I read about this, I scurried to buy some extra coupons on ebay so I can get my stockpile of wipes on again (this pic just includes the q’s I had been given from my friends)! I also got some more fabric softener too so I am just replenishing my stock – Downy is just the best!
Meijer
Total OOP: $24.38
Total Savings: $68.15 (used $8 in Planters Catalinas)
I sure did take advantage of the Planters nut catalina deal (thanks again, Lavonne!). So, my OOP was low because I did two Planters transactions before my final big transaction and got $8 off. I also have another catalina to use for my next Meijer trip! And, thanks to cincymom Pancake’s tip on the Malt-O-Meal Cereals being B2G2 FREE, I got some more FREE cereal!
The other thing I have to share is that on my final transaction, the cashier scanned my Planters coupon and it only took $1.25 off, we were confused so she scanned them again and took the full $3 off for each product. Well, I got to the car and inspected my receipt and the Planters were $1.25 (thanks to cincymom Beckers tip on this one :-). So, when she scanned the $3 q’s, they were in excess of what I bought. I couldn’t live with this mistake, so I marched back in there with 3 kids in tow and paid them the $9 (since I had 3 q’s). The customer service gal said the cashier asked her about it, but they just dismissed it. I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t live with my conscience on that one – God speaks to me when I’m couponing too (and why wouldn’t he?!!).
Weekly Grand Total OOP: $65.27
Weekly Grand Total Savings: $158.92
I do plan on going back to Kroger Saturday when my Pampers wipes coupons get here to stock up on more wipes (and possibly more Downy). Since P&G is raising their prices 16% this fall, stockpiling will be even more essential to maintain the lifestyle we have! Be sure to check out my Tips to Build your Stockpile if you want to begin! BTW – when I go, I’ll update this snack to reflect the accurate new total!
7/14 ETA: I did hit Kroger again and paid $12.81 for 15 more boxes of wipes and 3 gerber graduates meals. I saved a total of $31.57. I’ve updated my Weekly Grand Total/Savings to reflect the new number!

It’s nice to see someone who actually tries to honor the Lord in their couponing! I see so many people who get carried away just to get a deal. What is it going to matter in eternity? And how can I witness to a cashier if I’m doing a deal that’s a little shady?
Centsible – I am toootally there with ya! Um, my salvation is worth way more than that $9! The Lord has given me the resources and wisdom to do this, so I have to honor Him in my couponing (along with everything else in my life) and hopefully be that “light” that He wants for me to be too!
Our testimony is important even when bargain shopping. I was stocking up majorly on the Walgreen’s diapers last week. It is too detailed to explain, but I manipulated the system trying to get one more deal out of the coupon. They really didn’t care, but God definitely was leading me to go back and apologize for being deceitful and having a greedy spirit the next day. I had a good talk with the assistant manager, and my conscience is clear now. In my apology I was able to point out that because I am a Christian, I want to do the right thing to please God, etc… Hopefully God will use something that was said to draw Brandy to him. She was really sweet! Also I think it helped my oldest who struggles with apologies sometimes.
Great job! I would have marched back in to the store too. I couldn’t live with myself if I wasn’t being truthful.
How nice of you to be honest. This is the first time I’ve ever been this serious about couponing and I am beginning to see alot of dishonest couponers out there. I want the managers at these stores to smile when they see me coming and always be willing to accept my coupons!
Great deals by the way!
If the product was $1.25, and the coupon scanned for $3, wouldn’t the overage be $1.75 each, or $5.25for all 3?
Of course, this is not to minimize your honesty. I am reminded of the time when I was 8. I went to Meijers with my dad. He was given a dime more in change than he was suppose to, and he returned it. This honesty has stayed with me my whole life.
So the short of it is, thank you for taking the extra step, even though it was inconvienient to march back into the store, with the little ones in tow, to make it right. You not only honor God, but may have possibly, in a single shopping trip, instilled invaluable honesty in your little ones who will one day be responsible members of society!
Anonymous – the product was $1.25 and when the cashier initially scanned my coupon that amount came off. Well, she didn’t think it scanned right so she manually entered the full coupon value of $3 too – so, essentially, I received $4.25 off each bag that was $1.25.
Thank you for responding, but there’s no reason to thank me for what I was led to do. But, like you said, I am instilling honesty and integrity, and the love of God, in my children that one day I hope they will exhibit and share as well!
