Snack Time: Random and Weird Facts

I’ve been tagged by Carrie over at MoneySavingMethods to share “7 random and weird things about myself.” So, this is probably way TMI, but here goes (in no particular order)…

  1. I brush my teeth in the shower. I never really thought this was odd until someone asked me if I brushed before or after the shower. when I told them during, they looked at me all weird. Let me just say, this is something my hubby did and my guess is it’s from his military service when they got like 5-second showers or whatever. Well, when we got married, he always kept toothpaste in the shower so I just started doing it too. Anyway, I still do it and it does save me some time!
  2. I used to play the saxophone. Well, that’s not weird or interesting in itself, but whenever I run, I play a song in my head and key along with my fingers as if I’m playing. It’s a way to distract my mind from the pain, I guess…just don’t run with me and you’d never know it!
  3. I just recently got a cell phone! I know, I know – I think I was the only person on the planet who didn’t have one. I would even have to borrow my 8-year old son’s phone occasionally. And, I only got it because I recently started back to school and I do have the kids all the time – so it’s a safety precaution. I guess I was so anti-phone because having one for so long while working and living on it that I wanted some anonymity or something. Of course, I got it on sale and through Ebates :-)
  4. I can type like 100 words per minute! Yeap – when I was in college, my professor told me to enter a typing contest..who knew they had those. I never did, but I’ve been timed several times and it’s around 100 wpm. And, even though it’s been a while since I’ve had a timed test, my guess is it’s only getting faster since I have to be super-efficient typing so Andon doesn’t smack the keyboard – he loves to do that!
  5. My hubby and I have been together since I was 14…so, by my calculations this year (on the birthday of all birthdays-HA) I will have been with him more than half my lifetime. And, I’ve loved every minute – gotta get that in since Mother’s Day is coming up :-)
  6. I was a long-time member of 4-H. I even won Grand Champion Homegrown Rabbits one of my last years as a club member. This was a hobby that my dad and I had together and he was one of our club advisors. Unfortunately, we live in a suburb now and I don’t know of the possibilty for our kids to have an animal in 4-H, but possibly they can take fishing or something (which I did too one year) :-)
  7. I don’t let my kids drink from my cup. And, it’s not because of germs it’s because of floaties!!! Yeap – even my kids floaties (gasp, I know – but gross). The thought of goldfish floaties in my drink just makes me want to hurl right now!

Oops, messed up the first time!

What fun! It’s neat to learn some stuff about you. Thanks for the tag. Unfortunately, I just did this same thing a few weeks back. Feel free to read it here!

O.k., I have to say that I find brushing your teeth in the shower very odd! I know of one other person that does it. I’m not sure why I find it so strange because I’m sure others do it. I guess I just assume (mistakenly) that everyone is just like me!

Thanks for the tag but I’m not sure if I will be able to complete this one! It took me forever to write my 100 Things About Me Post and I just don’t think I could come up with anything new for the 7 things meme. Feel free to check out my 100 Things posts if you are ever really, really bored!
