Snack Time: PayDay

OK, I have another payday story. Only this one is not about a survey and you can probably find a way to have your own story like this too.

Since our little guy is almost 1, we no longer need his baby/pumpkin seat for the car. We purchased a new seat and one of those convenient sit-n-stand strollers before his birth so we could have something for our 3-year old to enjoy too while strolling along.

Well, our community forum (Hi Voice readers) had someone expressing interest in these very things. I replied with my desire to sell, the buyer was interested so I sent her some pics. My buyer came up that same evening to pick up their familiy’s new baby seat and stroller. In that transaction, I made $130 which is less than half of what I paid for my set, but is still a decent value for our used belongings (which were basically like new).

This week, I am going to look for additional opportunities to sell other items we have around the house (baby stuff, baskets, textbooks, etc) and various avenues I’ve used before to do that (craigslist, ebay, book resellers). I’m hopeful that with some of the things we no longer need, I’ll find someone who could get some use out of them (and be willing to pay me for it too). Watch for my update next weekend on how my attempts to rid the house of “stuff” goes this week!

Congrats on your sale!! You must be thrilled :-) I too am a huge fan of Craigslist for selling off baby items that my daughter no longer uses. I have made a few great sales from the site and have also made a few great purchases too!!

    I love Craigslist!!
